Contexture is excited to share important updates regarding our unified health information exchange (HIE) platform migration. Our team is working diligently on the platform transformation to ensure we continue to deliver the highest quality and most innovative solutions to all our participants. ONE Platform will become available during Q4 of 2025.
Focus on Data Quality at Scale
Our new platform will connect over 1,000 interfaces to unite more than 2,500 participants across Arizona and Colorado, ultimately managing approximately 30 million patient identities.
ONE Platform will combine many solutions that previously existed in three disparate HIEs. Health Current and CORHIO joined forces in 2021 to form Contexture — the largest HIE in the Western region. Then, Contexture and QHN affiliated in 2024 to unify Colorado’s HIEs under Contexture. This enables Contexture to bring extensive expertise and data to communities across Arizona and Colorado.
This platform upgrade will increase your ability to seamlessly obtain the data you need through improved performance, functionality, identity management, reporting, analytics and security.
Migration efforts are focused on ensuring data quality at the point of ingestion to support more actionable and meaningful data products to all participants.
ONE Platform Migration Timeline
Now through 2025, Contexture will continue working to build a platform that ensures the quality of clinical data sent into the HIE meets industry standards and provides proactive feedback to data contributors to address any identified data quality issues. The new ONE Platform will become available to participants during Q4 of 2025.
In addition to building the enhanced platforms, we are also working to connect over 2,500 participants to the new platform to ensure a seamless transition. As of November 2024, we have received and verified the vast majority of organizations’ Statement of Work (SOWs), showcasing the value of the HIE to your practices. We thank each of you for your patience and collaboration to connect to the new platform.
We can’t do this without you — our HIE is successful only because of our participants’ commitment to data and information sharing for better care and better outcomes for patients.
Attention Data Senders
If your organization sends data to Contexture, we will work with you and your electronic health record (EHR) vendor throughout 2025 to build new interfaces that will connect you to our new platform. Data senders can continue to rely on the previously shared deadlines for returning Statement of Works (SOWs), Object Identifiers (OIDs) and the required onboarding Workbooks.
Key Benefits and Improvements for Our Valued Participants
Some of the key benefits you can expect on Contexture’s unified HIE platform are:
- Improved system performance and enhanced functionality to support the promotion of patient health.
- The ability to deliver the results directly into your systems, rather than simply informing you that data is available in our portal.
- Access to Part 2 substance use disorder (SUD) data with general designation consent so the patient’s consent applies to all treating providers.
- Improved standardization of both inbound and outbound data, as well as a dedicated focus on data quality.
- Unlocking numerous opportunities for public health advancements, offering deeper insights and enhancing analytical capabilities.
- The ability to leverage sophisticated role-based access controls, ensuring that your portal users can only access data as authorized.
- Additional methods of receiving clinical results, such as Direct Secure Messaging (DSM), directly to the EHR or other secure methods via Results Delivery and Quick Results.
- The ability to incorporate current program reporting requirements and anticipate future reporting requirements to increase funding for your organization.
