PHOENIX, Ariz. – Dec. 3, 2020 – Health Current, Arizona’s health information exchange (HIE), is pleased to announce that it is the recipient of the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce 2020 IMPACTful Nonprofit Award.

Melissa Kotrys, Health Current CEO, accepted the award on behalf of the organization during the Greater Phoenix Chamber’s IMPACT Awards ceremony held on December 3 in a socially-distanced setting at the Musical Instrument Museum in Scottsdale.

The IMPACTful Nonprofit Award honors nonprofit organizations that exhibit success in the following areas:

  • Community Impact: An organization that is measurably improving the community through volunteer efforts, community focused initiatives, education projects or other methods. This organization’s mission adds great value to the Greater Phoenix community.
  • Innovation: An innovative organization that exemplifies the spirit of entrepreneurialism within the nonprofit sector. An organization that has identified opportunities or unmet needs and, as a result, has initiated changes or developed innovative solutions.
  • Adversity: An organization that faced significant challenges and was able to rebound in order to build a stronger, more sustainable organization.

Health Current was one of four finalists chosen from a list of 12 nominees. Based on votes received from the Arizona business community, Health Current was crowned the winner earlier this year.

“I’m so proud of all that we have accomplished as a team in 2020,” said Kotrys. “We have made a tremendous, positive impact on the Arizona healthcare community’s ability to access and share patient information that improves the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of healthcare for all Arizonans.  The IMPACTful Award reflects our teams’ ongoing commitment to our important work,” she added.
