Advisory Councils Help Guide the Progress of Health Current
Published On: April 20, 2017
In its first decade of operations, oversight and guidance from community stakeholders have been essential to the success of Health Current, formerly Arizona Health-e Connection (AzHeC). Since 2015 after AzHeC and Health Information of Arizona merged, health information exchange (HIE) operations have been guided by the Network Leadership Council (NLC) which has served as a standing advisory council to the Board of Directors. As the organization has grown, the need for stakeholder input has grown as well. That is why Health Current’s three-year strategic plan called for sunsetting the NLC and creating three advisory councils of the Board of Directors:
- Clinical Advisory Council
- Data Governance Council
- Privacy and Security Council
After a robust application and nomination process, the Board of Directors appointed members to these advisory councils at their meeting on March 28, 2017. A list of the newly appointed advisory council members is available here.
Health Current would like to thank the following representatives from hospitals, health plans, and other key stakeholder organizations for their work on the NLC and ongoing interest in the growth of Health Current:
